2nd Annual Middle School Art Show!!!!!

Come one, come all, come see our magnificent art! We are so excited to announce our 2nd annual Middle School Art Show at artspace gallery! 

Please join us in celebrating our awesome art student's work so far this year. They have worked so hard and it has paid off. SJMS will have 150 pieces of art on display!

We are very excited about having the opportunity to exhibit in a professional art gallery. Artspace gallery is located in the Manchester Arts District in the Plant Zero Arts Building.

If you are planning on attending the event, make a family date night and enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants nearby. (My fave is Bottoms Ups Pizza...mmmm....)

The reception will be held Friday night, but the work will remain on display throughout the following weekend and is open to the public.

Glassblowing with Ryan Gothrup!

Mrs. Kluender and Mrs. Bradley's Art classes had the opportunity to take a "mini field trip"
 next door to Lee Davis High School for a glassblowing demonstration from artist-in-residence, Ryan Gothrup. 

What a great experience! Our students got to learn about glassblowing techniques like "gathering" glass from the crucible/furnace, using the blowpipe and marver table to shape the glass, stretching the glass to the width of a hair, and blowing a paper thin bubble!
