Kluender- Computer Art 78

Today, Computer Art 78 students learned that a POWER WORD is a word that has personal meaning to them. This word could send a message, evoke and emotion, show aspects of their personalities, or represent an interest. After brainstorming ideas for personal power words, we narrowed it down to one to use for our KALEIDOSCOPE design.
We created a design using different fonts. Then, we traced, traced, traced to  get the design onto a large square paper.

Kluender/ Didlake Computer Art 78

TEXTURE DAY!
CA78 Students spent the block creating lovely paint textures over their background paintings.
Next week, we will be doing an image transfer of their selfie photos over this painted background.

We made quite a mess, but had a blast.

We used texture plates, stamps, stencils, bubble wrap and brushes to create the textures.

Kluender: CA 78

CA 78 Students are making progress on their studio power word kaleidoscopes! After  finishing the kaleidoscope designs in pencil, they are fixing any mistakes and tracing with sharpie.

Then, we're discussing color choices. Students should think about their color choices and how they will affect their end result. They are required to include shading some areas of the colored pencil and can add patterning if they wish.

Kluender: CA 78 Kaleidoscopes

Computer Art 78 (CA78) is working on creating a kaleidoscope design using a "power word". Students brainstormed a list of words that made an impact or meant something to them. After selecting a word, they chose different fonts to spell out the word on our first kaleidoscope triangle.

After the first one was done, it's all tracing using the lightboxes!

The examples below are from previous years when we used student's names, but you can see how beautifully the kaleidoscopes turn out!

I will post pictures of our class as they make progress on theri kaleidoscopes.
