We had such a great turnout in the library today for our first Maker Space Craft Workshop! We had around 40-45 students creating stuffed sugar skulls! Thank you so much for coming and creating with me :)
Students have been adding more elements to embellish their skulls with Mrs. Didlake. They have been encouraged to use symbolic pieces to honor someone specific.
Students are enjoying their first lesson with Mrs. Didlake! They have been creating skull masks in celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
Students have learned a lot about this Mexican tradition.
They have created skull masks using cardboard and oil pastels and will soon add more symbolic pieces.
Please help us welcome our student teacher visiting from VCU, Mrs. Didlake! She has begun to take over the ARt 78 classes with a Dia De Los Muertos lesson. Today, students were introduced to this holiday and drew skulls in class.
Happy Dia De Los Muertos!!!! Check out our display of our colorful sugar skulls! Our Art students loved this brief introduction to printing! Art 8 will begin a reduction linoleum block printing lesson next!
