We had such a great turnout in the library today for our first Maker Space Craft Workshop! We had around 40-45 students creating stuffed sugar skulls! Thank you so much for coming and creating with me :)
Today, Mrs. Didlake has the Art 8 students creating sketches and writing proposals to Mrs. Disharoon for their conceptual art piece. Students are working in teams to create a piece of conceptual art that interacts with the environment. I can't wait to see what they come up with!
Students have been adding more elements to embellish their skulls with Mrs. Didlake. They have been encouraged to use symbolic pieces to honor someone specific.
Students are enjoying their first lesson with Mrs. Didlake! They have been creating skull masks in celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
Students have learned a lot about this Mexican tradition.
They have created skull masks using cardboard and oil pastels and will soon add more symbolic pieces.
Art 8 students began a lesson with my student teacher, Mrs. Didlake today. They were introduced to CONCEPTUAL ART and artists such as Rene Magritte, Marcel Ducamp, and Jeanne Claude and Christo.
Student used Scholastic magazines to delve deeper into the work of Jeanne-Claude and Christo.
Students will be working on their own piece of conceptual art here at school.
