Art 7/8 students are working hard at their gridded self-portraits!
We learned how to use a grid as a drawing tool. This helps students draw their features in proportion and helps them capture their likeness.
Students are using various shading tools to add VALUE to their artwork. No, not value as in how much it's worth, but value as in shading! Adding those blacks, greys, and whites help give our portraits dimension.
Many students are discovering hair is a difficult part of the process, but they are doing great!
After they are finished shading, students will find color swatches from magazines. They will create a magazine mosaic background. This will give the final piece some color to accent those awesome shading skills!
