Computer Art students are creating a grid drawing based on a zoomed in package. Students chose a candy or snack package and used Photoshop to crop it to an 8 inch square and zoom in on part of it. This was printed out and gridded into 2inch boxes.
Then, students gridded a 16x16 inch paper into 4 inch boxes. We learned how to use a grid to help us draw something in proportion.
After drawing, the student are using a COLOR CHECKLIST to add color to their artworks. (See below). Students are learning all about different color families and vocabulary, like monochromatic, analogous, complementary, neutrals....
Students already learned basic shading skills, so these should be put into practice on this project.
