Mrs. Kluender and Mrs. Bradley's A3 classes worked outside today to do some amazing artist-inspired portraits on the sidewalk near the bus loop!
Students selected numbers to assign them to one of 17 groups. Each group had an portrait to work from. They used colored chalk to recreate the images onto large sectioned off areas around the bus loop.
Some students really enjoyed getting messy! Students recognized that not all portraits are made up of "skin tones", but that some artists used bright, bold, or unrealistic color to show emotion.
Students had to work together with other students and grade levels to complete the assignment. We saw a lot of great teamwork out there!
Students labeled each drawing with the artist's name that their drawing was inspired by. Come check them out and learn a little about an artist before the rain washes them away!!!
We thank you for your support of our Fine Arts Department, not only during March for Youth Art Month, but for all you do to support our young artists all yearlong!\
