Art Guild

Art Guild students are painting the courtyard windows! This time, we are painting birds to make our front hall feel "springy".

If you are in the building please take a moment to admire these beauties right across from the office.

Kluender- Art 7/8

Art 7/8 has begun their clay project! We are using a SLAB to create ceramic selfies :)

Students learned to score, slip and seal to attach 3 dimensional elements to their flat slabs.

Kluender- Art 8

Art 8 has been working on a ceramic bust and they look AMAZING!!!!! One of my favorite things about being an art teacher is opening the kiln and seeing what the ceramics project look like after firing!

We have been discussing NARRATIVE in artwork and students have been creating a narrative to accompany their portrait bust.

We will be adding color using acrylic paint. We will do a black wash to antique the piece and a dry brush technique to depth of color.

Arts and Science Festival!

I hung all the work for the Arts and Science Festival and it looks amazing! The festival is at Hanover HS this year.

The 3D work is located in the library.

The 2D work is in the hall by the locker bay.

Whew! I got in a lot of steps hanging the work! It's worth it. You guys did some awesome work :)

Arts and Science Festival

The Arts and Science Festival is THIS SATURDAY!! We have lots of amazing young artist's work to display. Be sure to stop by Hanover H.S. between 10-4 to check it out!

Art Guild!

Mrs. Kluender and Mrs. Bradley sponsor the Art Guild. We have done many projects this year, but this by far was the most fun!

Students began by painting a piece of heavy duty watercolor paper with neon acrylic paint.

Then, we drizzled gel dishwasher soap over the dried paint. We applied a thin  layer of spray paint  and then hosed off the dish soap.

It was fun to get out of the classroom and work out in the courtyard on such a nice day.
